We offer exercise and fitness classes, recreation outings, and social and educational events and programs for our members.
Programs We Offer
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance; and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Chair Yoga invites you to find mobility in a way that is soft and gentle but also really supportive and beneficial. This helps develop awareness and integrity into the body, specifically the line of the spine. Activate the muscles that help you find length up through the spine for better posture and energy flow.
Chair Volleyball is a fun way to exercise and be active. Because players are required to remain seated, Chair Volleyball provides a level playing field for both men ad women of all activity levels. It is a game that promotes rowdy comradeship and friendly competition among participants.
Line dancing is very popular among Senior Citizens. It’s fun, there is great camaraderie among the Seniors, and you don’t need a partner, and it’s an easy way to stay healthy, both mentally and physically.
Games for senior citizens, like bingo, are great because it increases social engagement. A bingo competition is a structured way for you to get some fresh air and interact with other people.
Card games are a great way to spend time with friends, have a little competition, and enjoy one another’s company.
A lot of people love playing billiards, as it is a great way to improve your own skill, or simply pass the time with friends.
If you’re looking for a way to reduce stress, consider tai chi (TIE-CHEE). Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.
Bunco (also Bunko or Bonko) is a parlour game generally played with twelve or more players, divided into groups of four, trying to score points while taking turns rolling three dice in a series of six rounds.
The Samba is an energetic and lively dance that is currently popular in many parts of the world. Syncopated rhythms, bouncing actions, and rolling hip movements characterize the dance. It may be danced with or without a partner.
